Soft pastels and muted neutrals can also be tricky. While refined and calming, they may lack enough contrast, creating a washed-out effect. Slightly stronger tones—rose instead of pale pink or sky blue instead of powder—add warmth and clarity. Earthy hues like khaki or dull olive feel grounded, but fresher greens such as sage or emerald tend to flatter more and brighten the face.
